THE PROCESS:

Coffee Brewed

As with most coffee drink recipes, the first step to making this honey vanilla latte is brewing coffee. You have several options here. You can use an actual drip coffee maker, espresso machine, pour-over, or French press coffee maker and chill the resulting brew in your refrigerator to be used later. You can also use cold brew coffee or take advantage of a higher-end machine’s iced coffee setting to get the joe you need.

The choice you make depends on the gear you have on hand, and it doesn’t matter which route you take so long as you use fresh coffee grounds in your brewer; in that case, you’ll want to make sure to pull out the whole beans and the coffee grinder.

Step 2:

Vanilla in coffee

Pour the chilled coffee into a mug, tall glass, or mason jar and stir the sugar, vanilla, and honey (Pro tip: nothing beats raw honey if you’ve got it!) into the brew. And being that this recipe takes you down the iced coffee route, you’ll of course want to add a few ice cubes to the drink.

Step 3:

Milk In Iced Coffee

Next, pour in half a cup of milk of your choice. For many, whole milk is probably the default option, but if you’re vegan or sensitive to dairy, substitutions like oat or almond milk will taste just as good in this coffee recipe.

Step 4:

iced coffee stirred

You’ll want to give your cold coffee one final stir to be sure it’s blended well before you enjoy it. Once the mixture is smooth, you’re ready to give the iced latte a try — and be prepared for it to become your new favorite coffee drink!

DRINK UP

Though an iced coffee recipe like this one can provide a welcome break from hot coffee, skipping out on the ice, using steamed milk, and pouring in your espresso or coffee piping hot is a great way to enjoy this latte even during the cold winter months.

You’d be surprised the difference pouring honey in coffee can make when you want something a bit different than your typical vanilla latte. Give it a shot, hot or cold, then decide if this cup of coffee is your cup of tea!

Happy Caffeinating!
