Maybe you’re hesitant to try new things, or you love your usual coffee order too much to say goodbye and you don’t want something entirely different from it. Whatever the reason, I’m here to tell you that there are ways you can turn your favorite caffeinating drink into one that has just a touch of fall flavor.

As someone who used to work at Starbucks as a barista, I can tell you that the fall season is maybe one of the busiest of the year. This is because almost everyone loves the taste of the warm spice flavors during autumn. Which is why I recommend adding one of these simple touches to your go-to brew the next time you’re there.

How to Turn Your Everyday Coffee Into a Fall Treat

So, let’s get right into it. Below are a few different ways that you can enhance your typical coffee drink into something spiced and seasonal whenever the fall ingredients roll around at Starbucks. It doesn’t have to be much of a change to your coffee recipe to get you looking forward to the cooler months, but it’s definitely worth a try.

Pumpkin Sauce

We’ll start with the most well-known fall addition, the Pumpkin Sauce. At Starbucks, the pumpkin spice syrup is a bright orange liquid that’s mainly sweet, with a touch of pumpkin pie spices such as nutmeg, cinnamon, and clove. It’s obviously the featured ingredient in the well-known Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte.

Although, it’s super easy to add this syrup to any drink, even if it’s just a few pumps, as it can take your beverage to a whole new level. When the fall season hits, you can add some of the pumpkin sauce to just about anything: americanos, drip coffee, iced coffee, chai, and so much more.

Pumpkin Spice Seasoning

If you don’t want to take such a huge leap into the actual pumpkin syrup, you can always stick to the Pumpkin Spice Seasoning instead. This sprinkled topping has even more of the spiced flavors of nutmeg, cinnamon, and clove than the syrup does.

I really recommend this seasonal ingredient as it doesn’t really add any sweetness to the drink of your choice, just more of a spiced flavor that you might be looking for. It’s truly perfect in any drink, especially those of a warmer temperature.

Pumpkin Cream Cold Foam

The Pumpkin Cream Cold Foam is my personal favorite addition to any cold coffee beverage, especially the more simple ones. This is made by blending together the sweet cream available at Starbucks with the iconic pumpkin spice sauce.

It quite literally creates a sweet, creamy, and slightly spiced treat at the top of your go-to iced beverage. The Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew is already on the menu, but this specialty foam can also be added to a regular iced coffee, iced latte, iced chai, and more. You’ll quickly fall in love with this fall twist on your drink.

Apple Brown Sugar Syrup

Moving on from all the pumpkin flavors, in recent years Starbucks also came out with a spiced apple ingredient. The Apple Brown Sugar Syrup is a delicious sweetener that adds an even more intense layer of spice than the pumpkin; featuring the taste of apple, cinnamon, oats, and brown sugar.

Since it’s a syrup, it’s also super easy to add to any of your favorite coffee beverages, though it’s been known to come through most prominently in hot drinks made with oat milk. It’s simple, sweet, spiced, and reminiscent of all things fall.

Apple Drizzle

Alongside the Apple Brown Sugar Syrup is the Apple Drizzle, which is essentially an apple caramel sauce that’s usually drizzled on top of the Apple Crisp Oatmilk Macchiato. It’s just as spiced as the accompanying syrup but also adds a rich decadence to any drink.

While it’s just as delicious in warm beverages, you might find your cravings satisfied in a nice drizzle of this caramel apple sauce on top of iced drinks, especially those with whipped cream. It’s also a great addition to any Frappuccino if that’s what you prefer to order at your local Starbucks.

Apple Crisp Cold Foam

Just like the pumpkin spice sauce, the Apple Brown Sugar Syrup can be added to some Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Foam to create an Apple Crisp Cold Foam. This customization is delicious, spiced, sweet, and creamy enough to be the only thing you need to add to a black cold brew.

Or, if you prefer iced coffee, iced lattes, or iced chai, this foam is the perfect fall complement to any of these. It might surprise you how much flavor this sweet and spiced cold foam can add to your favorite drink.

Cinnamon Dolce Syrup

Next up is actually an ingredient that you can add to your beverages year-round, I just had to include the Cinnamon Dolce Syrup on this list because of how perfectly it tastes like fall. This flavored syrup is another sweet and spiced addition that has cinnamon and brown sugar present in the smooth taste.

For years now, this has been a popular sweetener in several different drinks, so you may already have this one added to your favorite drink. If not, I’d recommend doing so, if even just for the fall season in beverages both hot and iced.

Cinnamon Dolce Sprinkle

The last autumn-inspired Starbucks ingredient I’ll mention is the Cinnamon Dolce Sprinkle, which is a sugary spiced seasoning that plenty of customers love to add to their drink of choice. Once again, this isn’t a limited-time option and you can get this any time of the year, so it might quickly become your new go-to.

It’s delicious in practically anything, but adding it to a warmer drink will definitely spice things up in a most rich and satisfying way. However, I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s already your favorite thing to get on top of your coffee.

Wrapping Up

Overall, there are so many different ways that you can switch up your usual coffee order when the fall season comes around. With the arrival of specialty sweet and spiced ingredients, it’s very easy to give your drink a nice little twist for the few months they are available.

Whether you’re an avid iced coffee drinker and want to give the Pumpkin Cream Cold Foam a try or you prefer a warm beverage to get your day started and could do with a dusting of Pumpkin Spice Topping, there are several simple ways for everyone to enjoy a tasty fall seasonal drink.
