Color Coffee Roasters Subscription Review

The bag of coffee that I received from Color Coffee Roasters came in a fun-designed black package that featured a rainbow logo on the back. The colors really represent the branding of Color Coffee and when I opened the package, I found an equally aesthetically pleasing bag of beans.

The simplistic bag of Santa Teresa was customized with a green label to represent the flavor notes presented in the beans. Included with the coffee, there was also a fun postcard and a couple of stickers!

Santa Teresa – Peru

The coffee that Color sent me was a part of their Roaster’s Choice Single Origin Subscription, which features a new 10-ounce bag of beans every week. For my delivery, I got the Santa Teresa. This is a single origin from Peru in the region of La Convención Cusco.

It’s actually a field blend of different coffee cherries and is washed processed. Tasting notes for this brew include almond pastry and green apple, which can be related to the color of the label. On the back of the bag, it tells you the beans are most “colorful” 2-5 weeks from the roast date.

Upon brewing up this single-origin, I found that the aroma was very delightful with a warm, sweet, and slightly fruity tone that leaves a beautiful invitation to the brew.

The taste had a mellow and soft warmth to it accompanied by an underlying fruity acidity. Overall, it was a delicious and easy-to-drink cup of coffee that’s perfect to get your day started!

Color Coffee Roasters: Subscription Options

As far as subscriptions go, Color Coffee Roasters actually offers six different options. There are three Roaster’s Choice subscriptions in either general Single-Origins, Africa exclusive, or Latin America exclusive. These include Artist Reserves, single producer lots, experimental processing, super micro lots, and more!

They also have their Harmony Espresso subscription, Primary Seasonal Blend subscription, and Eclipse Dark Roast subscription. With the Roaster’s Choice subscriptions, you’ll get a new weekly rotating coffee with each delivery or you can get the seasonally changing espresso, blend, and dark roast.

Whichever you choose, you can get your coffee in bag sizes of 10 ounces, 1 pound, or 5 pounds. These can be sent as whole beans or pre-ground for espresso, stove top, Aeropress, drip, French Press, or cold brew.

Delivery frequencies vary depending on your schedule, with options from every seven days to every 35 days. Of course, it’s important to remember that the Roaster’s Choice subscription products will change every week.
