Sweet Cinnamon Vanilla Latte Recipe

Just so you know, if you click on a product on RoastyCoffee.com and decide to buy it, we may earn a small commission.

As far as additions to coffee are concerned, here at Roasty, cinnamon and vanilla are two of our favorites.

Our spicy little friend cinnamon looks and tastes great on top of a thick layer of latte or cappuccino foam, and the classic sweetness of vanilla extract or syrup complements the contents of almost any coffee cup well. While both are great alone, together they’re a dynamic duo, taking your already delicious morning drink to the next level.

A vanilla latte with cinnamon flavors mixed into it is simple to make and even easier to enjoy. And the best part is, you don’t have to rely on an expensive coffee shop to give you your fix; you can make this beverage yourself, and chances are, you’ve already got everything you need for this coffee recipe in your kitchen already.

YOU’LL NEED:

  • 2 shots of espresso
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla syrup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Whipped cream

THE PROCESS:

Step 1:

Espresso Shot

Whip out your espresso machine (Check out a list of the top espresso makers here!) and your favorite espresso and brew two shots of joe. If you’re a regular reader, you’ve probably heard the following advice dozens of times, but if you’re new to the site, you should note: whenever you have the chance, you should always choose whole coffee beans over a bag of pre-ground coffee.

Purchasing whole beans and grinding them yourself right before brewing time is the best way to give you the freshest coffee possible.

Step 2:

Coffee With Syrup

Once your (hopefully freshly ground) coffee is brewed, pour it into a mug or tall glass. Then, stir in the vanilla syrup.

Step 3:

Next, because no latte is complete without foamy milk, it’s time to pull out the steaming wand. Pour the milk into a pitcher with a spoonful of cinnamon and froth the mixture until it’s foamy. Don’t fret if you don’t have a fancy milk frother at your disposal; there are other ways to steam milk without one.

Step 4:

Latte Whipped Cream

Pour the foamy milk into the mug with your freshly brewed coffee, and top off the mixture with a dollop of sweet whipped cream. And don’t forget to add a sprinkle of ground cinnamon!

You don’t have to be a big-time coffee expert to appreciate what the taste of old reliable vanilla and delicious cinnamon flavor can do to complement strongly-brewed coffee. Sure, our favorite drink is good in pretty much any form, but a few add-ins certainly never hurt anyone. This sweet latte is proof of that.

Happy Caffeinating!
