For my Coffee Beanery Flavor of the Month Coffee Club box, the theme was Mardi Gras. This included four Mardi Gras-themed coffee flavors in 2.5-ounce pre-ground sampler bags. The flavors were King Cake, Beignets, Hurricane, and Bananas Foster.

King Cake

The first flavor I tried from the box was the King Cake, a staple when the Mardi Gras season hits.

This coffee was described as having the taste of sweet cinnamon roll cake alongside an equally sweet vanilla glaze.

Upon brewing, I noticed that the aroma was sweet and spiced, perfectly reminiscent of a King Cake. Its taste was dark and mellow, with an underlying flavor of cinnamon and vanilla.

Beignets

The second flavored coffee in the Mardi Gras box was Beignets, which is noted with rich fried dough and sweet powdered sugar. These flavors were really present in the aroma of the coffee, which was a delicious combination of sweetness.

The image of the yummy fried dough was not only brought through in the smell but also the taste. It had a slightly lighter feel to it, with mellow and sweet flavors.

Overall, it was a really decent and tasty sip!

Hurricane

Next was a coffee flavor a little more out of the box: Hurricane. This bag represents the popular rum and passion fruit drink, though there’s no alcohol in this cup!

The aroma of the brew was strong and fruity, and it had a rum-filled presence that was rather sweet and interesting. It actually tasted more like an un-flavored coffee with fruit-forward notes that were slightly sweet and acidic, with a nice rum finish.

Bananas Foster

The last bag of the Mardi Gras-themed collection was Bananas Foster. This was noted to have flavors of caramelized brown sugar, cinnamon, and bananas.

This cup’s aroma was very sweet and banana prominent. It almost smelt like a sweet banana pudding!

The taste was dark, with a strong banana flavor base and an underlying sweet cinnamon note.

The Coffee Beanery Coffee of the Month Club Subscription Box lets you try four new coffee flavors in a constantly changing theme every month. Coffee Beanery’s flavor mixologists curate four unique flavored coffees for every themed box.

These are sent before the new flavors become available for individual purchase on their website, giving you first access to what’s new. You can get these in pre-ground 2.5-ounce sampler bags, whole bean or ground 12-ounce bags, 12 single-serve pods, or 48 single-serve pods.

Since it’s designed as a way to test new flavors, Coffee Beanery recommends getting the 2.5-ounce bags in your subscription. Then, if you find one you love, you can get a full-size bag!

This subscription can be customized for regular or decaf coffee drinkers. Plus, you get an info card in each box that tells you all about the flavors of the coffees and even includes a fun activity. On my card, there was Mardi Gras trivia!

Coffee Beanery: Roasting

Coffee Beanery sources some of the best 100% Arabica hand-picked coffee from two different South American countries. For their decaf coffee options, they use the Swiss Mountain Water Decaffeination Process, which ensures a chemical-free and flavorful bean.

They then small-batch artisan roast the beans using their trademarked Right Roast process in Flushing, Michigan.

For coffees such as what’s seen in the Coffee of the Month Club, Coffee Beanery hand-flavors the beans after roasting them with ingredients that are sugar-free, lactose-free, and gluten-free.

Coffee Beanery: Pricing

When it comes to the pricing of Coffee Beanery’s Coffee of the Month Club Subscription Box, it’s really dependent on what size coffee bags or amount of coffee pods you get delivered.

At the time of writing, a box with 2.5-ounce sampler bags or 12 single-serve pods would be $20. If you wanted a box of full-size whole bean or ground 12-ounce bags or 48 single-serve pods, it would be $50.

These boxes are delivered monthly and can be paid per box, or you can choose to prepay for 3, 6, or 12 months. Moreover, if you get your box shipped after the 15th of each month, you get free shipping.

What Makes Coffee Beanery Unique?

Coffee Beanery stands out among the crowd by offering a coffee subscription service that presents a new fun and interactive monthly theme for every box.

With each theme, you get four brand new delicious and experimental flavors, which lets you find things you might or might not like about coffee.

The company will “give a theme reveal on [their] social media pages, but the flavors are a surprise, so when the box arrives, you have no idea what you’re going to get.”

If you end up really enjoying a certain flavor, Coffee Beanery will also sell individual bags of those coffees for that month so you can buy more of what you love.

How To Cancel Coffee Beanery

To make any changes to your subscription with Coffee Beanery, all you have to do is log into your account on their website and use the “Manage Subscription” tab. Under there, you can do things such as changing your billing or shipping information.

If you decide that you would like to cancel your subscription, you can also do this under the same section in your online account. Though, if you’ve prepaid for your subscription, you won’t be able to get your money back, but you won’t be charged again once it ends.
