Despite being exactly what you need to warm you from the inside out on a cold winter morning, a cup of piping hot coffee isn’t always the best choice for your sipping pleasure on days when the temperature is steadily rising. Those days call for a refreshing coffee treat, and a cup of hazelnut-flavored coffee over ice will hit just the right spot every time.

This hazelnut iced coffee recipe is a perfect fit for the iced coffee lover who wants to add a little extra flavor to their basic coffee drink. The ingredient list for making this beverage is short and simple, too; you’ve probably got everything you need in your coffee setup already.

YOU’LL NEED:

Begin making this delicious coffee treat by pouring a cup of chilled coffee into a tall glass. The best options for getting cold coffee are to take advantage of your brewer’s iced coffee setting, use a cold brew maker, or brew the joe with a drip coffee maker and let it chill in your refrigerator for a bit.

You could buy a bottle of already-brewed coffee from the grocery store, of course, but we think fresh is best, so if possible, you should use freshly ground coffee beans to make your java.

Step 2:

hazelnut syrup

Add hazelnut syrup and a couple of spoons full of sugar to the coffee, and stir until all of the ingredients are mixed well. Drop a few ice cubes into the glass, too…after all, those are pretty important when it comes to iced coffee!

Step 3:

Milk in Iced Coffees

Lastly, pour a quarter of a cup of milk over the sweetened coffee mixture. We used whole milk, but if you’re a vegan or non-dairy Roasty reader, you can use your preferred milk of choice.

ENJOY!

This flavorful coffee drink is a cool way to start the day during the hottest months of the year. And while you’re adding hazelnut flavoring to your brew, experiment with other add-ins. One of the best things about iced coffee is that it’s so versatile; there are so many options for you to explore.

Try a pumpkin cream cold brew, for example, to give you a cool caffeinated kick while reminding you of the autumn season, or sip an iced caramel latte for a sweet morning or mid-afternoon pick-me-up.

Happy Caffeinating!
