Do you love brewing french press coffee at home? Many french press lovers enjoy this brewing method because it results in stronger, thicker coffee. The grounds are allowed to steep in the hot water over several minutes, and this amount of flavor extraction is what makes french coffee so bold and rich in flavor for many who enjoy it.
From the intimate steeping process to the high-quality flavor extraction, french press coffee is a delicious treat that will highlight and enhance the inner-most flavors of your favorite coffee. However, not just any french press will do. That’s why a french press designed and engineered by Barista Warrior will quickly become any coffee lover’s best friend!

Our FRench-press Review
For our review of Barista Warrior’s french press, we received our package intact without any damages or blemished to the coffee maker. Our first impressions were that the box was packaged well, labeled intently, and the french press inside was even more of a pleasant surprise. But, we’ll get into those details later.
Barista Warrior’s french press comes in two different styles: one is painted grey on the outside, and the other is made of solid, high-quality stainless steel. We received the stainless steel french press, which, like its grey sibling can hold an impressive one liter (34 fluid ounces) of water. The french press is heavily insulated and will keep your coffee toasty warm throughout the entire 4-minute steeping process, and even after the brewing is complete.
What We used for our review
For our testing of Barista Warrior’s French Press, we used a dark roast by Lifeboost Coffee and ground it to a coarser grind size with the Chefman Coffee Grinder.
Though this grinder isn’t the best suited for french press grinding in particular, we used this grinder for ease and convenience. For a better idea of what grinders would best complement coarser grind sizes, you can view our top recommendations here.
Things We Enjoy
When it comes to outward packaging, Barista Warrior thoroughly wraps and protects the french press in soft, stable packaging so it arrives blemish-free. Not only does Barista Warrior package its products securely, but it also includes operational and brewing instructions as well. The detailed instructions will put all of your brewing questions and concerns at ease.
quality & Design
Barista Warrior’s design of the french press has many advantages over many others similar to it. For starters, the fact that the french press isn’t made of glass is a huge advantage as far as keeping coffee warm. The thick, high-quality stainless steel material will allow you to enjoy the first, second, and even third cup of coffee without worrying about it going cold.
When it comes to longevity, the material and design of the french press will last you many brews, cleaning cycles, and more. In addition, we were also VERY impressed with the brewing quality. On our first several brewing trials, we had hot, robust, richly flavored coffee with no loose coffee grounds in it at all!
There are already so many components to consider when brewing with a french press, and keeping track of the temperature of the water is a very important component that Barista Warrior actually does for you! The french press has a thermometer built into the plunger that allows you to monitor and keep track of the heat of the water–which Barista Warrior recommends keeping around 195-205°F.
The Brewing Accessories
In addition to the thermometer, Barista Warrior’s french press has a double filtration system that prevents coffee grounds make their way into the brew.
Other french presses similar to the Barista Warrior traditionally use only one filter to block out unwanted coffee grounds. However, though the single-filtration can be effective, Barista uses two filters to further ensure that your brew is coffee-ground free.
All of these pieces are easy to assemble and even easier to clean. The bottom supporting piece and the top coiled piece hold the filters in place while the inner oils and flavors in the grounds are extracted.
What good is a coffee maker if you don’t enjoy the coffee?
The double filtration system did its job and in the end, I enjoyed that rich, heart cup of coffee that french press enthusiasts know and love (without any coffee grounds mixed in).
Better yet, when I went back for that second cup my coffee was still plenty hot inside the double walled french press.

Things That could be better
One thing that’s important to keep in mind when brewing with a french press? Math! You don’t have to be a fanatic for mathematics, but you’ll need to at least keep track of your coffee-to-water ratios and measurements when brewing with a french press.
Barista Warrior’s recommends that you should brew your coffee according to the ratio of one tablespoon of ground coffee for every eight ounces of water, or one two tablespoons per six ounces of coffee for a stronger, bolder brew. You’ll also need a method of recording your steeping time, which should be about four minutes.
That being said, we think a beneficial addition to nice touch to the french press would be measurement labels or notches along the inside walls of the french press, that way the water inside can easily be measured.
Having some labels inside may help first-time french press brewers keep track of the amount of water used when brewing. This is probably the one thing I miss about switching from glass to stainless steel is not seeing those water measurement lines as I pour in water.
Just remember to measure out your coffee and water before you start adding to the french press and it won’t be an issue.
A Note About filtration Assembly
We read a few Barista Warrior users have stated that the twistable screw connected to the plunger can be slightly difficult to attach the filtration system to, especially users who are new to brewing with a french press.
However, this minor inconvenience has a simple solution! When attaching the plunger rod into the filtration pieces, make sure to twist the end of the plunger repetitively to until it begins to tighten. This tightening is a sign that the filters are secure, and you can begin the brewing process. Some users have expressed concern over putting the assembly together, which again is a little different if you’re not used to setting up a french press for the first time.
Remember, with french press brewing, it’s not just about the destination–it’s about the journey too! Most French press users not only enjoy the coffee, but they also enjoy the brewing process as well. It’s important to remember that when brewing with Barista Warrior if the process is taking a little bit longer than expected, it’s completely normal. As they say: good things (and good coffee) take time.
Barista Warrior’s french press is ideal for the home barista who is seeking to increase their coffee brewing skills, as well as their knowledge of coffee overall. Brewing with a french press does require more attentiveness and experience during the brewing process, but it’s also a very easy process to learn. Once you brew with it the first time, you’ll find that the french press is a simple tool to master.
