Just so you know, if you click on a product on RoastyCoffee.com and decide to buy it, we may earn a small commission.

If you were to ask me what coffee machine I had at home, the answer would be simple: a Keurig. It’s the machine that brews my favorite K-Cup in the morning.

While it seems like a simple question, my answer could have multiple meanings. For me, a Keurig is the original Keurig K-Classic Machine, but for you, it could be a Keurig K-Mini.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if I have a 1.0 or 2.0 Keurig?

The 1.0 Keurig models are the original coffee makers Keurig created. In general, 1.0 models have a smaller water reservoir, accept all coffee pods, don’t allow for brewing control, and only offer manual cleaning.

The 2.0 models are the updated version. Some notable additions are the auto on/off feature, brewing control, touch screen, and automatic cleaning. Additionally, Keurig 2.0 models are only compatible with Keurig branded K-cups.

It’s important to note that Keurig discontinued the 2.0 line in 2019 due to customer backlash. Since they are discontinued, you cannot purchase them from the Keurig site directly, but you can find them from third-party retailers.

If you don’t remember which version of Keurig you have and want to check if you have a 1.0 or 2.0 model, you can always check with the machine’s serial number. Once you have the serial number, you can either google it to find out the name of the machine or call Keurig customer service, and they will let you know.

Keurig customer service can be reached at 866-901-BREW (2739).

How do I find my model’s serial number?

You’ll find the serial number on the side of the brewer if you have the following models:

  • K-Select
  • K-Classic

You’ll find the serial number on the bottom of the brewer if you have the following models:

You’ll find the serial number behind the water reservoir if you have the following models:
