A coffee subscription service is important for avid coffee drinkers interested in learning more about international coffee and trying out different roasters. There are benefits to every coffee subscription box; which you choose depends on what you’re looking for.
We have found two great coffee subscriptions that are amazing in their own ways. Bottomless Coffee and Atlas Coffee Club are unique coffee subscription services specified for coffee lovers.
Since they have many similarities and differences, we figured we’d give you a run down so you can see if one of them is right for you.
What is Bottomless Coffee?
BOTTOMLESS COFFEE SUBSCRIPTION
Bottomless is working on technologies never seen before. Starting with a Device that will learn about your coffee usage to deliver new and fresh coffee bags right when you need it.
Bottomless Coffee is a service that provides you with consistent coffee based on your coffee drinking habits and preferences.
This subscription is unique because it provides a Wi-Fi-enabled coffee scale that analyzes how quickly you go through your coffee beans.
Based on the scale, which you can always adjust if it’s not completely accurate, Bottomless Coffee will alert you 12 hours before it ships a new bag of coffee to you. During that time, you can always change or cancel the shipment.
Bottomless Coffee will also recommend new blends according to your preferences. This service ensures you never run out of coffee while trying new things.
What is Atlas Coffee Club?
ATLAS COFFEE CLUB SUBSCRIPTION
A coffee of the month club that curates amazing micro-lot coffees from around the world. Tanzania, Kenya, Colombia & beyond.
Atlas Coffee Club is a service specializing in single-origin beans from over 50 different countries.
The subscription engages customers through postcards, tasting notes, and brewing tips from the beans’ country of origin.
All the beans sent are in the top one percent of coffee, guaranteeing a good cup of coffee every time.
Atlas Coffee works to import coffee that has never been brought to the U.S. before, making it a distinctive coffee subscription service.
Bottomless vs Atlas Coffee Club: How Are They Similar?
Bottomless Coffee and Atlas Coffee Club have some similarities, mainly because they strive to provide the best service to their customers.
With Bottomless Coffee’s analyzing scale and Atlas Coffee’s high-quality coffee, both subscriptions have incentives that draw coffee lovers to their service.
Both Bottomless Coffee and Atlas Coffee also provide fresh bags of coffee. They work to make sure the beans are roasted just before they are delivered to your door.
The subscriptions, much like others, each have a short quiz for you to take so they can figure out what coffee to send you based on your preferences.
How Are They Different?
Bottomless provides more of an expansive collection of coffees. Atlas Coffee Club lets you fill out their quiz, but they choose the beans for you.
With Bottomless Coffee, you can choose from three selections of coffee or use their advanced options. You can specify the grind, blend or single-origin coffee, the roaster, and the tasting categories you prefer.
As we mentioned before, Atlas Coffee only provides customers with high-quality single-origin beans from specified countries rather than blends.
Because of this, Atlas focuses on the adventure of trying different countries’ beans.
Every subscription box has postcards from the country, information on that country, tasting notes of the coffee you receive, and brewing tips to bring out the flavor profiles.
With a Bottomless Coffee subscription, you receive the wireless coffee scale, which provides you with consistent coffee based on your needs.
Bottomless has connections to beans from 500 different blends, but they mainly focus on supporting local and independent roasters around the U.S.
Bottomless Coffee Pricing
In Bottomless Coffee’s subscription service, you pay a flat monthly fee which covers the cost of the scale and the coffee. They have three tiers to choose from: Basic, Standard, and Premium. You can order a 12 or 32-ounce bag from any tier.
In the Basic tier, the cost starts at $13.40 for a 12-ounce bag. For the Standard tier, it’s $15.60; for the Premium tier, it’s $18.40.
Atlas Coffee Club Pricing
Atlas Coffee’s subscription has no tiers but rather offers a choice of a 6-ounce bag, a 12-ounce bag, or two 2-ounce bags to equal 24 ounces of fresh coffee.
You can choose how frequently you want your coffee delivered, whether it’s every two or four weeks, but the coffee only changes monthly.
If you choose a 6-ounce bag, the pricing starts at $10. However, it’s $16 if you’d prefer to get the popular 12-ounce bag. Finally, if you want the two-bag option for 24 ounces, the cost starts at $32.
As prices constantly change, please visit each coffee club’s website to confirm prices before ordering.
