At Starbucks, there are plenty of drinks that you can order to get caffeinated and still maintain keto. You may even be able to order your usual pick with just a few adjustments. So, to make it easier for you, we’ve put together an extensive list of all the keto-friendly drinks available at Starbucks.

Keto Drinks at Starbucks

Keto Drinks at Starbucks

Jumping right in, here’s all of our favorite low-carb coffees and teas to give you a much-needed energy boost sans the guilt of breaking your diet.

Drip

There’s probably nothing more simple than a black cup of brewed coffee and all of the options that Starbucks offers on drip; the blonde roast, Pike Place medium roast, and dark roast, are entirely carb-free.

Of course, if you can’t do a plain black coffee, you can always add things like Stevia, sugar-free vanilla, almond milk, or heavy cream to make it an easier sip.

Espresso

Next to drip, a simple two shots of espresso is also one of the easiest things you can order to stick to your keto diet. At only one carb per shot, it would be pretty hard to break your limit with this concentrated form of caffeine.

Plus, adding a tiny portion of keto-friendly ingredients to take away the strong flavor, such as Stevia and almond milk, won’t bring the carb count up too high either.

Espresso Con Panna

If you’re looking for a bit more of a quick treat or a way to make your espresso a tad more enjoyable, the Espresso Con Panna is the way to go. This menu item consists of only a double shot of espresso and just a small amount of whipped cream on top.

The combination of these ingredients really brings out the flavors and makes it hard to believe such a delicious beverage is really keto!

Americano

Much like the drip coffee, the Americano is super simple which also means super keto-friendly. Since it’s only made with two shots of espresso and water, you’re only getting two grams of carbs from the espresso.

Of course, adding a touch of heavy cream and sugar-free vanilla to the mix makes this a rather delicious drink and won’t bring you much closer to breaking your ketosis.

Caffè Misto

Also known as a café au lait at many other coffee shops, Starbucks’ Caffè Misto is yet another coffee beverage that’s super low in carbs. This option is made with half drip coffee and half steamed milk.

By ordering this with almond milk or heavy cream as the steamed milk portion of the drink, you get a strong and creamy drink that doesn’t break your diet.

Cappuccino

On the more creamy side, or should we say foamier side, the Starbucks Cappuccino is definitely more of a treat. The extra foamy texture of the milk next to some decadent espresso shots makes this choice hard to pass up.

Make sure you substitute the traditional milk that’s used with almond milk or heavy cream to keep the carb count low. You can even make it more of a treat by sweetening it up with some sugar-free vanilla!

Caffè Latte

Similar to the Cappuccino, the Caffè Latte is an espresso-based drink that can be altered in a way that meets the requirements of a keto diet. The milk isn’t as foamy as the above beverage, but it’s still paired rather nicely with two shots of espresso.

Once again, switch out with some almond milk or even half water and half heavy cream, and sweeten with Stevia or sugar-free vanilla syrup if you don’t like the taste of a plain latte.

Low-Carb Iced Blonde Vanilla Latte

Another way you can get a sweet latte that is still keto-friendly is by ordering an Iced Blonde Vanilla Latte. We know, it doesn’t sound keto, but just like anything else, all it takes is a few adjustments.

To get a low-carb version of this tasty drink, ask for sugar-free vanilla syrup instead of regular vanilla syrup and substitute your milk for something low-carb such as almond milk.

Low-Carb Iced Cinnamon Dolce Latte

Yet another decadent beverage that you wouldn’t think would fall under the keto category at first is the Iced Cinnamon Dolce Latte. This honestly just takes a few similar changes as the drink above to become a low-carb pick.

Starbucks has a sugar-free cinnamon dolce syrup that can replace the regular version. We also recommend switching your milk to half water and half heavy cream for an even smoother and tastier pick.

Low-Carb Caramel Macchiato

Maybe one of the most popular drinks at Starbucks is their Caramel Macchiato. It may seem impossible that such a delicious treat can be made keto-friendly, but we promise it’s not that hard! Simply substitute the vanilla syrup for the sugar-free vanilla syrup and have it made with almond milk.

The thing that truly makes this drink the Caramel Macchiato is, obviously, the caramel drizzle. While this is where a huge amount of the carbs resides, we wouldn’t blame you for not wanting to skip the yummy ingredient. The good thing is that with all the other adjustments, asking for just a light drizzle on top of the espresso won’t hurt your carb intake too much!

Iced Shaken Espresso

There are plenty of variations of the Iced Shaken Espresso at Starbucks, so it’s not hard to see how yummy and energizing this drink can be. By shaking the espresso shots with ice, more of the flavor is brought out.

To get this option without all the carbs, ask for a few pumps of sugar-free syrup to replace the classic syrup and have it topped with almond milk or heavy cream. You definitely won’t regret sipping on this beverage!

Unsweetened Iced Coffee

Speaking of iced drinks, a simple way to order iced coffee is by literally getting an unsweetened Iced Coffee. This caffeinated beverage alone is delicious enough to enjoy on the keto diet, but the usual additions of low-carb ingredients definitely make it even better.

Since it’s normally made with classic syrup, ask for that to be taken out and instead put a few pumps of sugar-free syrup or Stevia if you want it sweetened. Make it a bit creamy, as well, with a touch of almond milk or heavy cream.

Cold Brew

Looking for something a bit stronger? That’s where Starbucks’ Cold Brew comes in. This unsweetened cold coffee is steeped for about 20 hours, creating a stronger and more flavorful brew.

As always, you can add some sugar-free vanilla and heavy cream to get an even tastier drink that still falls under your daily limit of carbs.

Nitro Cold Brew

Take it a step further by ordering the Nitro Cold Brew. This Starbucks creation infuses nitrogen into the classic cold brew.

By doing this, you have a drink that features a sweet flavor and a creamy texture without having to add anything to it at all! The best part? It has zero carbs!

Keto Frappuccino

The last coffee-based beverage on our list of keto-friendly drink options at Starbucks is what we like to call the Keto Frappuccino. Technically, this isn’t a Frappuccino at all since it doesn’t have the Frappuccino Roast.

Instead, you get a low-carb frozen coffee beverage by ordering an iced coffee that’s only been sweetened with a few pumps of sugar-free syrup and is blended together with extra ice and heavy cream. This option is so tasty, you’ll be questioning if it’s really keto!

Chai Tea

Another fan favorite at Starbucks is the Chai Tea Latte. While that drink isn’t really keto-friendly, you can still get a version of it that is. Instead of the Chai Tea Latte, simply order a brewed Chai Tea, which has zero carbs.

If you don’t want it plain, adding a bit of heavy cream or almond milk and even some Stevia will still keep this option in the low-carb area.

Hot Tea

Speaking of brewed teas, you can actually order any of the hot teas at Starbucks since they all contain exactly zero carbohydrates. This includes Chai Tea, Earl Grey Tea, Royal English Breakfast Tea, Emperor’s Clouds & Mist, Jade Citrus Mint Tea, Mint Majesty, and Peach Tranquility.

Once again, adding some low-carb milk alternatives or sweeteners can make these picks even more tasty.

Low-Carb London Fog

One of the ways you can alter the hot teas is already on the menu. The London Fog is a delicious and creamy tea option, but you will need to make some adjustments in order to keep the carb count on the lower end.

Substitute the vanilla syrup for the sugar-free vanilla syrup and have the milk that’s added in be switched to either almond milk or heavy cream.

Unsweetened Iced Tea

The last drink option or list is another way to order some tea, but definitely in a more refreshing way. The Iced Tea at Starbucks isn’t typically made with any sweeteners, which makes it perfect for the keto diet.

Of course, whether you pick the Iced Black Tea, Iced Green Tea, or Iced Passion Tango Tea, adding some Stevia or sugar-free vanilla will only bring out more of the yummy flavors present in the brews.

Frequently Asked Questions

While our list above covers a large majority of keto Starbucks drinks that are available to order anytime, we’ve also taken the time to answer a few questions to further help you along.

How Do You Order a Keto Drink at Starbucks?

Much like we’ve shown in our list, it’s rather easy to order a keto drink at Starbucks. There are some options already on the menu that work with the low-carb restrictions, but there are also plenty of ways to make adjustments to others.

Changing up the sweeteners and using milk substitutions is the way to go for easy drink customizations!

Can You Drink Starbucks While on Keto?

Yes! As much as it seems impossible, you don’t have to cut out your Starbucks trip if you’re on keto. You can still get your daily dose of caffeine without any of the guilt of breaking your diet, and it’s actually pretty simple to do so!

Is Starbucks Milk Keto?

There are only two milk substitutes that are actually keto-friendly at Starbucks: almond milk and heavy whipping cream. While usually you can drink coconut milk on the keto diet, Starbucks coconut milk is presweetened, which drives the carb count of that milk alternative up.

Is Strawberry Acai Refresher Keto?

Unfortunately, no. The popular Strawberry Acai Refresher drink at Starbucks is not keto since there’s a high amount of carbs in it. However, there is a way you can still get a pink drink that meets the keto requirements.

Start by ordering an Iced Passion Tango Tea and ask to add some sugar-free vanilla syrup, heavy cream, and dried strawberry fruit pieces. Shaken all together, you get a drink that not only somewhat resembles the Strawberry Acai beverages, but also tastes just as fruity and delicious!
