1. Classic Cold Brew Coffee

The first stop on our cold brew journey will be the classic standard of cold brew coffee. There is a lot to appreciate in cold brewing’s simple and rich flavor. Start by gathering your materials: 1 cup of coarsely ground coffee (with no heat-extracted oils) with 4 cups of cold water (filtered). Combine the two in either a large mason jar or a french press and put in the fridge for 12-24 hours. During this time the mixture will extract the flavors of the coffee without the bite of heat and after the time is done you simply strain the mixture with either a coffee filter or a fine mesh sieve. Then you are left with coffee concentrate. You may choose to further dilute this with water or milk of your choosing. This will leave you with a much less acidic coffee and a fantastic taste that you will be able to enjoy any time.

Summer is the perfect time to try something new! Give the combination of cold brew coffee and lemonade a try. It might sound strange to some, but the combination is surprisingly delicious. It works as a great afternoon pick-me-up, because cold brew coffee provides the caffeine boost needed to get through the rest of the day, while the lemonade gives a nice cold and refreshing feel to combat the summer heat. To make this, start by making your cold brew coffee. Then make your lemonade. The best way to make lemonade is to do it fresh. It is a good rule of thumb to make lemon juice and water equally, and then adjust the sweetness by adding sugar to your taste. When you’re ready to drink, fill a glass with cold brew coffee and then add freshly made lemonade to the top. Add ice, and stir. After you’ve let the drink mix up, you will be ready to enjoy the complex and delicious combination of coffee and lemonade.
